Description
UPDATE: Saturday, Dec 18, 2021, 3:30pm – Just finished scouting the trail for our hike tomorrow. It’s GORGEOUS out there – everything coated with a beautiful sparkling white blanket! Be sure to wear your crampons, and if you have big-tooth crampons, those would be best. Gaiters and poles recommended. Bundle up, bring hot tea. See you all at the trailhead tomorrow! 😎
** YOU MUST HAVE CRAMPONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS HIKE…..Gaiters highly recommended too, as we will be in snow.
Since Nature is giving us snow this week, roads can be dicey, so I am posting a hike in the trees at Kenna. Trails in Kenna are local, so not much driving, and are always traveled, so we won’t need snowshoes, just crampons and hopefully you all have gaiters. Feel free to wear “Christmassy” hats.
Meetup at the main Kenna parking lot on Hillside Dr, (just before the Jail), at 11:00am. We will start up the Tower Trail, and connect to Saskatoon, Upper Doug Dawes, Big Pine, Little Pine, Prickly Pear Cactus, then back on Tower down to the parking lot. Approx 5.5km. We will go at a leisurely and social pace, so if you like to go quickly, this is not the hike for you. Dogs are welcome to join, to a max of 2. Please email me ahead of time if you want to bring your dog. Bring a hot beverage and lunch, as we will make a stop on the backside of Kenna where there is a nice view.
This will be a socially-oriented hike – the purpose is to relax and enjoy the company and the scenery while getting some healthy exercise and fresh air. We will not hike quickly.
