Description

The hike will be slow/moderate and steady.  I am carrying my 25-30lbs pack for building stamina for my backcountry hikes.  Therefore, this is an opportunity for others to join me with the same intention or for those who wish to get out and enjoy a leisure hike with a lighter load and the fun of it.

Approximately every 4-5kms we will take a break.  This will be an opportunity to take pictures, relax, have a snack, a light stretch for those with heavy packs and without out.  We will be hiking mindfully 🙂

Mindfulness hiking is a way to pay attention to the present moment without judgement.  We will engage all our senses as we mindfully walk the trails. We will pause along the way to sit peacefully with nature.  This is an excellent way to de-stress and elevate your mood.

Bring your 10 essentials.

Havana, my dog, will be joining us.  Others may want to bring their furry friend as well.  Please have a leash just in case. I have noticed lots of bear scat on the trails, heard packs of coyotes close by, cougars and wolves also make these areas their homes.  Not only is bear spray a good idea as well as hiking with a group, but mosquito repellent. With the recent rain, the air is humid and they thrive in our grasslands. Bring hydration and snacks.
