A Wednesday Walk in the Woods event
- the www series morphs into specific hikes or snowshoe events, but the location will not be chosen until we see the snow conditions in the area
- the actual details will be changed 5 – 10 days out from the event date and could be a moderate hike and could be a moderate snowshoe outing
- in some winters the snow comes early and we can be snowshoeing over a long season, but in other seasons the snow falls closer to Christmas
- either way we will get out for 1.5 to 2.5 hours
- dress for the conditions
- late hiking will be on moderate trails in the hills; early snowshoeing will be on well-used routes like Dogwood Marshes, Lac le Jeune, Lodgepole Lake and Stake Lake
- for snowshoeing events, members need appropriate boots, gaiters, reasonable snowshoes, and good gloves and headwear; poles are helpful
- bring a pad to sit on so that when we stop for lunch, you will stay dry
- dogs are welcome, but if the snow is too deep or the conditions too cold, it will not be suitable for dogs
- bring a change of shoes and a bag for your snowy gear if you are carpooling
- we will loosely stay together on the trails
