Description

  • Come join us for this amazing Icefields Parkway backcountry backpack in Banff National Park.
  • Approximately 50 m backpack
  • You must be fully equipped and experienced in the backcountry.
  • This is grizzly country, so we will have a larger group.
  • This backpack is leader approved, so please contact Katherine at aussiecan7@shaw.ca before you will be added in
  • 3 nights and 4 days on the trail.
  • We will need bear bags and will have to hang our food with our own ropes.  I will be using odor proof bags. We will help each other with this task.
  • Be prepared for water crossings that may be thigh high for our day hikes.  Water shoes and poles are highly recommended.
  • Bear spray will be a must for each hiker as we are in grizzly country.  Our group came across a grizzly on one of our adventures in the area.
  • Come prepared with bear safe bug spray as some areas are known to be buggy.
  • This is a backpack, so it is classified as challenging.  The terrain will range from moderate to challenging.
  • We will hike at a moderate pace.  We will take breaks for photography and to dip our feet in a lake or lay in a meadow.
