This starts out as a nice easy hike along the bench lands above the west side of Tranquille river. At the turnaround point hikers will have the option of taking a break and enjoying the views of the Guardsmen and area, or opt for the steep and difficult scramble down to the base of the West Guardsman for a closer look and photo opportunities.

5 kilometers return and about 230 meters of vertical.
