Description
We will be backpacking to Elfin Lake Campground for 3 nights. Elfin Lake is in Garibaldi Provincial Park between Whistler and Squamish. This is a great early season backpack area, however, there still may be snow and mud on the trails. The campgrounds should be dry, but we will not know until we get there. Please be prepared.
This will be a slow paced hike, staying together as a group. If you like to run ahead or go off on your own this is not the trip for you.
Thur, July 11 – drive to trail head and hike to Elfin Lake Campground 12 km, 600 meter elevation gain
Fri, July 12- day hike
Sat, July 13 – day hike
Sun, July 14 – hike out and drive home
Day hikes will be dependent on trail conditions but potential hikes include Diamond Head, Opal Cone and Mamquam Lake.
Campsite booking will need to be done asap. Each participant is responsible for booking their own sites.
All participants MUST be fully equipped and prepared for backpacking. Please contact me if you are interested in this event. I will only be accepting members who have hiked with me before and I know are capable of a backpacking trip.
