Description
A good uphill climb from the Dewdrop Range to the escarpment rim of Red Plateau, along the Rim to a viewpoint, and back
- this hike requires core fitness and can be a demanding route
- some steep sections
- good boots and hiking poles recommended
- tick season (possibility of snakes too)
- a scenic and interesting route
- we will stay together for this hike on the way up
- Participants must be well-prepared, as noted in KHC Guidelines and Expectations; leaders retain the right to refuse registration from anyone who is not in compliance with the listed expectations (please read)
- to be honest, if you are not in good shape and strong, this is the wrong hike for you; this is a safety and liability issue so we will carefully look at who is registering
- in preparation for this hike, you will need to do some long hill climbs prior to this event
- article on the route – Dewdrop Trail
- more details tba in May
