Description
The Cougar Canyon is situated on the east side of the beautiful Kalamalka Lake, and is around 13 km south of the city of Vernon.  While this area is predominantly used by rock climbers, it does have gorgeous hiking trails leading to viewpoints. The park has spectacular rocky cliff scenery, as well as lush green wetland vegetation in the bottom of the valley. The bottom of Cougar Canyon has steep walls and rock formations which is amazing to explore.  We will hike up to the spectacular lookouts, as well as descent into the canyon and meander through the network of a few climbing access points where we will probably see a few rock climbers. This descent will be more difficult as you will be rock scrambling down into the canyon.
