Description
A beach walk along Cooney Bay to enjoy the crisp weather and hopefully sunny skies.
This is a moderate walk at a steady pace. We will scramble up and over one headland to the next beach. The walk is on beach rocks, sand/gravel and rock (headland).
Lunch out at beach before the train tunnels.
Meet at the parking lot at end of gravel/dirt road from the gate at the old Tranquille site.
(Note: The road in from the gate to the parking lot is in very poor condition, with lots of potholes and big puddles. Drive with caution!)
Update: In honour of Anton, there may be some nice sausage cooked on an open fire for lunch! Weather and conditions permitting. And … the walk back from lunch will include a bit of a “Trash Bash”. Garbage bags will be provided and hope we can remove some of the plastic and garbage that is on the shore.
