Description
A Wednesday Wander in the Woods event
- A change to a new location since access to Hull Hill is not very good at this time (thanks to Peter for scouting it out)
- We will do Bush Lake South instead
- article – Bush Lake 2016
- each event in the www@ series becomes a specific hike or snowshoe event, but the location will not be chosen until we see the snow conditions in the area
- the actual details will be adjusted 5 – 10 days out from the event date and could be a moderate hike and could be a moderate snowshoe outing
- either way we will get out for 1.5 to 2.5 hours
- dress for the conditions
- for snowshoeing events, members need appropriate boots, gaiters, reasonable snowshoes, and good gloves and headwear; poles are helpful
- bring a pad to sit on so that when we stop for lunch, you will stay dry
- bring a change of shoes and a bag for your snowy gear if you are carpooling
- we will loosely stay together on the trails
- we have snowshoed these trails for a number of years
- here is one article on the trails – Hull Hill West
- Sometimes it is difficult to drive to the trailhead and parking is very limited there so we may have to walk down the Goose Lake Road for 350m; drivers may want to carry a shovel to help get out of the parking area
- I opened a few more spaces; we have several leaders so we can go out in 2 groups; I can stay with the slower group
- watch the listing for updates
