!!COVID19 Social Distancing will be observed by all participants. My expectation is 2-pole lengths apart (approx 6′).
An out and back hike to the lookout at Battle Bluff – stunning scenery well worth the hoof!
We will meet up (8:30am due to forecast heat) at the Brocklehurst Dog Park – AVIATION WAY (Meet Up Locations are listed on the club website), drive caravan-style to the trailhead & hike to the Bluff. Once there, we will take 30-45 mins to sit and enjoy the view, have a snack, sip coffee, meditate, take pics….what have you. The pace will be leisurely / with breaks on the steep parts to catch breath as needed, take a pic, etc.
- Hikers are expected to be self-sufficient. Water. Bug Spray. Hat. Poles, if needed. Sunscreen. Etc. Please take the time to read the Club’s “Guidelines and Expectations” & “Recommended Essentials” before you head out to hike, if you have not already done so.
- Dress appropriately – it can get very hot when sunny as there is little shade, and, as well, it can get very windy up there.
- Hiking poles are always handy.
- This hike is subject to weather – check the listing for an update the day before.
- If the date has to be moved, you can simply cancel by going to Your Bookings.

I am at my happiest when hiking and my enthusiasm is allowed free rein.
My hiking style is a relaxed one - to best take in all the beauty around us.Hunting new wildflowers and fungi will often cause me to be looking everywhere except the trail.
I like to think up unusual/themed hikes (nature is fun), including Art Hikes, Historical Hikes, Wacky Race Events, Santa Stocking Hunts, Halloween Hikes, Photography Hikes, Astronomy/Full Moon Night Hikes, Fossil Hikes, etc.I also seek out interesting things to see and share in nature - gorgeous waterfalls and views, crazy geological formations, scenic forests, and other very special places.
I'm always open to hearing new hike ideas from other hikers.
