Thursday, May 21 Update:

As of 6:30am, the forecast calls for 30% chance of precipitation, and hourly gives no measurable rain until noon.  Therefore, I am going to go hiking.😁  See y’all at the Meet Up Spot!

Forecast for rain tomorrow, however, there may be a window of opportunity in the morning.

Registration for this hike will open on May 14, 2020.

!!COVID19 Social Distancing will be observed by all participants.  My expectation is 2-pole lengths apart (approx 6′).  Your fellow-hikers are depending on you, as you depend on them, so please be mindful.

An out and back hike to the lookout at Battle Bluff – stunning scenery well worth the hoof!

We will meet up at the Brocklehurst Dog Park and drive caravan-style to the trailhead & hike to the Bluff.  Once there, we will take 30-45 mins to sit and enjoy the view, have a snack, meditate, take pics….what have you.  The pace will be leisurely / with breaks on the steep parts to catch breath as needed, take a pic, etc.

• Hikers are expected to be self-sufficient.  Please take the time to read the Club’s “Guidelines and Expectations” & “Recommended Essentials” before you head out to hike, if you have not already done so.
• Dress appropriately – it can get very hot when sunny as there is little shade, and, as well, it can get very windy up there.
• Hiking poles are always handy.
• This hike is subject to weather –  check the listing for an update the day before.
• If the date has to be moved, you can simply cancel by going to Your Bookings.
