Thanks for your message.  We are working with all current summer Naiset Hut clients to determine those that are from the same household or pod.  Once we go through this process, then we will know if there is any remaining Naiset Hut space that we can resell.  We will post on the main page of our website if we have Naiset space available.

Assiniboine Hiking

On Friday, May 22 I had a discussion with Assiniboine Lodge about the new BC Government campsite regulations giving preference to BC residents. Although they are waiting on further clarification they suspect that only the tenting site will be affected. The sleeping huts which we were trying to book in January are privately owned by the Lodge and therefore they believe will be exempt from the new regulations.

The lodge has a concern about non-family groups and the Corona virus. They don’t know if there will be restrictions on their huts or the camp sites. This could eliminate tour contractors because there is no reliable medical history for their clients. We don’t know how a social hiking club where members have already been associating together will be considered, however the person I talked to suggested we keep in-touch. If a contractor, or someone else, has to cancel their reservations we may be able to book a hut because we are a social hiking club.

I will be checking their web site and calling to, hopefully, get a 3 or 4 day hut booking between mid-July and to mid-August.

Costs: about $160 for the hut and $200 for the helicopter plus travel and food.

If you are able to change your summer plans and can be in Canmore on 48 hours notice (hopefully we will have more time!) then please email me and I’ll keep a list.
