Description
This is a bit of a copy cat of Erika and Kevin’s great idea to have a local hike, and then a bit of a social afterwards.  This time of year it is difficult to find hikes to do, but we are so lucky to have some great local trails to explore.  Frith has a plan so I’m gonna follow on this one!!
The plan for this event is to meet at the Pacific Way parking area (just past Duffy’s) and we’ll do a bit of a loop in Kenna Cartwright incorporating some hills and view points.  We may go as far as Sunset lookout or Mesa and will do the Ridge trail for some hill climbing.  There may be some odd patches of snow but you will probably not need cleats, but it is a good idea to bring them with you just in case.  Poles as always a good idea to bring, and a warm layer to put on for a wee break, and of course a drink and snack. We should be done before lunch.
We will hike for 2 1/2 to 3 hrs, and will have a break in there, so distance will be anywhere from 8 to 12 km.  Then as a reward we plan to go to Duffy’s Pub (after the KHC event) for a social and appies.  This could be the first pre-Christmas social of the season.
