Description

This is a very scenic hilly loop in the Westsyde hills.   A good long grind up hill to some great views up the Yellowhead and over the city.   We start at the Deep Lake trailhead so we will car pool from the meet up spot at Centennial Park, Westsyde, as the parking is limited and start the climb immediately.   We follow the grasslands community trail for a while before heading upwards again then looping around to a steep descent.   A lot of off trail hiking so there could be ticks awaiting us.   Good boots and hiking poles recommended.

We will keep a good steady pace but will be stopping for breaks, and then lunch at the top.   Bring plenty of water and lunch and snacks.

We will meet at Centennial Park at Westsyde to leave at 0930.  Doggies are welcome but remember there is no water available for  them on this route and they may have to be leashed if they wander too far from the group.
