Website Changes, Issues & Feedback – a few updates — 6 Comments

  1. Thank you for the reminder to take a look. I often access the website with my phone to reserve for a hike and it is all good! To be honest, it does get easier to “manipulate” the more often I did it. I have to say the website is richer in content when using my computer. Easier to see all the information and enjoy the pictures. There is alot of information and tbh I wouldn’t know if it is relevant or current until I had a need to access it.

I cannot think of any changes and like the way it is now. I appreciate all the contributors to keep it fresh during the year.

  2. Gerry MacDougall requested that the club’s safety information be made more visible for our members so I created a new page called ‘Safety & Insurance’ and added it under the ‘Club Info’ menu option. The information is also on the ‘Hike Leader & Resources’ page to make it easily available for our Leaders.

We encountered a few issues on the website this month which we are addressing and trying to fix.

We haven’t received any requests to change anything on the website so we will leave things the way they are for the next year.

  3. A few more website issues:

The Event Registration portion of the event no longer displays ‘Register Now’. It currently displays some odd Ticket & Price Information & ‘Undefined’ which lets you register for the event.

The Facebook feed page & Dashboard link no longer show all the facebook feeds. The Facebook Widget on the homepage seems fine

  4. The Event Registration form issue is fixed. WordPress rolled out an update that caused the issue. Doug S helped us identify & fix the issue.

  5. Added the carpooling reimbursement recommendations from the June 6, 2023 board meeting to the Guidelines & Expectations page.   Also reviewed/revised the page and added 3 headings to separate the information a bit (Event Preparation & Safety, Carpooling and Event Registration & Participation). Also fixed broken links on the Membership Registration, Petersen Creek Location. Still need to fix the broken links on News & Post pages.

  6. ‘Draft Events’ widget added to landing page to help plan for summer events where the date may change because of weather, smoke, etc.
