Meetups– Click to View or Comment
Members can use this post to organize their own “unofficial” meet-up (leaderless) outing.    To start a meetup, just make a comment to this post.  Other members can respond and you can make your own arrangements.  It could be as simple as, Does anyone want to go hiking on Saturday morning?”
All meetups are unofficial so may not be not covered by insurance.  If any member brings along a Guest, he/she may not have completed a waiver (though they could) so member organizers should be cautious about who joins in, where you go, and so on.
If this meetup option is not popular, we will removed it from the website, but if it is, we can install and set up a more robust system.  One of the most important benefits of a hiking club is meeting people who enjoy doing what you enjoy so this is one option to connect with other members of the same interests.
Good luck!

Meetups continue to be an informal way for members to get together for a hike. I removed the old comments from events past to keep the list of comments short and easier to view. My next meetup opportunity won’t be for a couple of weeks. It will be a hike called Greenstone Bluffs, an exploratory hike, although I have done most of it before, but not for quite a while. Tentatively planned for November 19th, if the weather is reasonable.
Hike the Hoodoos
Thank you Doug for the great article on the TRU KIS group!

KHC patrons are invited to join TRU students, KIS patrons and friends to hike the spectacular Hoodoos on Sunday, Nov 18th, weather permitting. This is a favourite hike, so don’t miss it!
We will meet at the North Hills Shopping Centre. (Details and a map are on the registration page.) This is easy to get to by bus. From there we will carpool to the trailhead and back. The route to the trailhead is on good roads accessible with any car.
This is an intermediate hike with a few steep, difficult parts, but it is short hike. This hike has spectacular views of these unique rock formations.
Note that if the weather is not good for the Hoodoos, we will hike an alternate, probably Gibraltar Rock at Paul Lake.
We have limited space, so please register by Saturday noon if you want to do this hike.
• In order to attend, you must register for this hike at:

okay, we are trying the Hoodoos again this Sunday if anyone is interested. Remember, you must register for this hike, don’t just show up at the meeting place.
This is a good hike for beginners and people new to the club.
