KHChronicles –

• Our thanks to the hike leaders who led events in November – Lisa Boutry,  Ian and Liz Cornish, Paulette Gendron, Doug Smith, John and Carole Moslin, Gerry Hoye, Sam Chow, Wendy Kineshanko, Katherine Roberts, and Sheila Powell.   Hike leaders were also supported by co-leaders for most events.
• The winner of the November draw for hike leaders was some old guy who led some events in the last month.
• Welcome to Janine Leduc, KHC’s newest hike leader.
• From time to time, a small number of our website users run into problems with logging in for a variety of reasons.   More KHC help information has been updated on the Website Help page.

• Our thanks also to Katherine Roberts and Gerry Hoye for organizing our Fall Potluck and to David Langevin for his presentation at the gathering.
• We are continuing to hike in the hills and will mostly choose to do so until the snows blanket the valley.
• Our thanks to the Board of Directors who continue to show leadership on behalf of the club –  Sheila and Frith Powell, Dianne Smith, Margo Mercier, Kathy Dupuis, Katherine Roberts, Bruce Bunko, and Paulette Gendron.

Board of Directors Meeting, Nov. 17, 2019

The Board met and had good discussions, adjusting some policies and procedures for the future.   The major changes were in the Guests and Membership areas and are now explained on the website:

Additional adjustments were made with regard to  waivers, fees, dogs, minors, family hikes, calendars, the 2020 AGM, presentations, elections and succession, new member communications, payments, budgets, website, InReach, sweeps, hike leader recruitment, communications, access to information for hike leaders, and more, most of which is now reflected on the website where it is appropriate.

KHC has an extensive library of trail information for local hiking, only available online when logged-in, a benefit to members.   New updates (trail info, maps, GPS tracks, events, etc.) are now available for the following trails (click a link for each page).   KHC’s website has more area information than any published book.

• Herald/Margaret Falls/Reinecker Creek Trails
• Jesmond Lookout
• Valemount Basecamp
• Lodgepole Lake

Developing these maps, tracks, links and specific information is time-consuming so a few will be updated each month, mostly over the winter season.
