Kamloops Hiking Club is a volunteer-run organization that organizes events for its 200 – 300 members.
- Memberships are renewed in February and March and new members can register in February and March, but then the club closes down new registrations for the year, to ensure that the number of members is in synch with the number of spaces available on the events schedule.
- KHC does not organize events for non-members or for the general public and guest spaces are very limited, and only available through a club member.
- KHC does participate in some community projects, but mostly in the area of trail development, wildlife preservation, environmental stewardship, and so on.
- Trail information – the website has 250 pages of trail information, but it is only visible to logged-in members.
