SUMMARY:Mount Davis
DESCRIPTION:We will meet at Aberdeen Mall at 8:30 and travel south on Highw
 ay 5 past the Coquihalla Recreational Area.  From Exit 192\, we travel 20
  km along the Sowaqua FSR to the trailhead.  The FSR should be suitable f
 or a 2wd vehicle\, but a truck would be better.\n\n 	From the trailhead we
  will travel east along the HBC Heritage Trail from Sowaqua Creek Campsite
  to Camp Du Chevreuil Campsite.  This section of trail is 4 km long and c
 limbs 725m through a number of steep switchbacks.\n 	From Camp Du Chevreui
 l we will continue on and have lunch at Palmers Pond.\n 	From Palmers Pond
  we go off trail and scramble to the summit of Mount Davis.  This is an a
 dditional 4 km with a 490m elevation gain.\n 	Return via the same route.\n
 \n\nPalmers Pond\nThis will be a long day on a challenging steep (1215m 
 elevation gain) trail.  All participants must be able to keep a steady pa
 ce over the 18 km distance.\n\nThis is a dog friendly hike.  The leader w
 ill be bringing a dog.\n\nIf you have not done a number of harder or chall
 enging hikes this year\, this may not be the hike for you.
